    Biography

A native of Treviso, Giuliano Carmignola studied the violin with his father then with Luigi Ferro, Nathan Milstein and Franco Gulli at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena.

He began his career as a soloist under the baton of conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Eliahu Inbal, Peter Maag and Giuseppe Sinopoli, then collaborated with many prestigious conductors in both early music instrumental ensembles and 32 modern orchestras in Europe and around the world.

He devotes himself to the baroque and classical repertoires and is one of the most important interpreters of the music of Vivaldi, a composer to whom he has devoted several recordings which are references today.

Most of his many discographic productions are made for Sony Classical and Deutsche Grammophon, and many of his recordings have won awards. This recording is the second disc he has made for the Arcana label, with which he has several recording projects.

For several years and parallel to his concert activity, he taught at the Chigiana Music Academy in Siena and at the Hochschule in Lucerne. He was awarded the title of Academician of the Accademia Filarmonica of Bologna and Academician of Santa Cecilia.
