Alessandro Crudele Album Launch Concert

Following the release of their album Britten & Elgar: Sea Interludes, Violin Concerto, on 8 September, Maestro Alessandro Crudele will be reunited with the Philharmonia Orchestra for a special concert to mark its release. The concert will be held at the Britten Theatre, London on 12 October and admission will be free.

The programme includes Edward Elgar’s Serenade for Strings, Ottorino Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances, Suite III (Antiche danze e arie per liuto Suite III) and Benjamin Britten’s Sinfonietta Op. 1. These great pieces from the early 20th century demonstrate the youthful exuberance of the two English composers along with the search for popular themes, their variations, and the rediscovery of early music, as in Respighi’s piece.

The concert will be introduced by Andrew McGregor, of BBC Radio, in conversation with Maestro Crudele, discussing the relationship between late Italian and English Romantic music.
