Barb Jungr live in the US
The British Singing Sensation returns to The Metropolitan Room from September 28th to October 3rd 2009.
"The Men I Love," which The New York Times said sparked "a small revolution" when Barb Jungr premiered the show at the Café Carlyle in March, is returning to New York for a one-week exclusive engagement at The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, beginning Monday September 28th at 7pm.
With London-based music director Simon Wallace on piano, "The Men I Love" features a hearty mix of mostly contemporary songs - many of them rock, folk, blues and R&B classics - (with a number of standards adding savor to the mélange). Jungr's songwriters include Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Todd Rundgren, Leonard Cohen, Neil Diamond, David Byrne, and Paul Simon among others.
Jungr and Wallace, who share credit for the show's arrangements, are currently completing work on a studio recording of "The Men I Love". Be on the lookout for select cuts which Linn Records will be releasing for download in the coming weeks.
This is your chance to catch one of the most exciting singers anywhere in one of the most highly acclaimed shows in years. Barb is performing four shows only:
- Monday September 28th at 7:00pm
- Wednesday September 30th at 7:30pm
- Thursday October 1st at 9:45pm
- Saturday October 3rd at 9:45pm
