Hebrides Ensemble: “Scotland's most innovative contemporary music group”

The Hebrides Ensemble is continuing to gain great recognition following the release of their acclaimed album ‘Olivier Messiaen - Chamber Works'. Hailed as "Scotland's most innovative contemporary music group" by The Scotsman, the ensemble has recently completed another ambitious project: a new production of Peter Maxwell Davies's chamber opera The Martyrdom of St Magnus. Premiering in Inverness on the 20th June and performed in the St Magnus Festival in Orkney on the 25th, Hebrides Ensemble is certainly an exciting group for people to watch out for. Their debut at the Wigmore Hall, London on the 30th May was, according to The Sunday Times, "captivating...daring but triumphant", and Music OMH praised it as "eloquent as anything we've heard in London so far".

To hear from the Hebrides Ensemble about their projects why not listen to their podcasts on Classic FM?
