Phantasm Wins Second Major Award

The awards keep coming for Phantasm's brilliant recording of Dowland's Lachrimae! At last night's ceremony in Paris the talented viol ensemble added a Diapason d'or de l'année to the Gramophone Award it won in September.

When they reviewed the recording Diapason stated the performance was: '…not lavish or overstated, preferring virtuoso transparency to doleful solemn accents, and suitable for continuous listening: each pavane emerges as a distinctive study with emphasis given to every detail.'
