Kate Molleson interviews bassoonist Peter Whelan for the Herald
There's nothing funny about the bassoon, just pride and joy
Continuing its rediscovery of Baroque music in Ireland, the Irish Baroque Orchestra and its Music Director Peter Whelan welcome soprano Rachel Redmond to explore the story of Black Irish soprano Rachel Baptist who delighted Irish audiences in the mid-18th century.
This thrilling programme includes a mix of new, familiar and uniquely Irish works. Scheduled for release in 2024, it is a perfect partner to the series so far: The Hibernian Muse, The Trials of Tenducci, and Welcome home, Mr Dubourg.
