Fans of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra will be pleased to learn that the Orchestra has teamed up with their Conductor Laureate, Sir Charles Mackerras, to make their third recording together on Linn Records.

The recording sessions, which are taking place early this month, will result in what promises to be another outstanding recording of Mozart's works - a speciality of Mackerras'.  Following on from their hugely successful collaboration on "Mozart Requiem", they SCO will tackle the popular last four symphonies (Nos 38-41) in a recording scheduled for release in 2008.

This will be the fourth album of Mozart that the SCO has recorded for Linn.  The previous three albums - "Mozart Requiem", "Mozart Wind Concertos" and "Mozart Serenades" have all been very popular with the public and critics alike.
