    Album information

Strength is to be found in serenity. An old wisdom, which in our time of the general hectic of "higher - faster - further" apparently only plays a subordinate role. Cell phones and emails are our constant companions, total availability around the clock is almost law, rushing around the globe at breakneck speed is normality and not being able to concentrate on one thing for more than three minutes is a fact.

However, the general hustle and bustle also seems to be casting the first, dark shadows, as very quiet voices have been raised in recent years about what we really need. Movements such as Slow Food, Cittàslow or Slow Travel are experiencing a real boom and reflect people's obvious need for peace, muse and deceleration. This is precisely where the Chamber Orchestra Mannheim comes in with this recording of its so-called Dream Concerts, in which it consistently pursues the idea of setting a conscious counterpoint to the rush of time. Keywords such as relaxation, lingering and contemplation to the calm flow of selected classical music for string orchestra are the supporting element of this recording. The listener should not only enjoy a musical time-out from everyday life, but more: he can - if he wants and allows it - go on a journey to himself, explore and ground himself anew.
