Chouchane Siranossian - Duello d’archi a Venezia - BBC Radio 3 'Record Review'
For me it’s Veracini’s Concerto for eight instruments that is the star here. Flamboyant winds and brass bouncing off the stone walls whilst Siranossian improvises solo caprices. It’s a bravura performance.
Isn’t that a fabulous sound? Violinist Siranossian with her fiery attack and improvisatory flair in the virtuosic solo spots and the colour and bite of the Venice Baroque Orchestra directed by Andrea Marcon. It’s my Record of the Week.
