They'd have been fortunate indeed to hear performances as good as these from Ensemble Marsyas directed by Peter Whelan completing their recording of Barsanti's ten Opus 6 Concerti Grossi in this second volume, interspersed with delightful performances of some of the folk tunes that Barsanti arranged in his collection of Old Scots Tunes ... intimate and detailed recording as well.
