Hue and Cry - Next Move - Glasgow Evening Times

Hue & Cry release their 10th album on June 21, the second in their "jazznotjazz" trilogy. Brothers Greg and Pat Kane enlisted a number of top jazz players, including Tommy Smith, for the Next Move project.
Using the latest recording and production methods, the duo have created an interesting fusion of jazz with a wide variety of other musical forms.
Stand out tracks include an interesting cover of Prince's Sign O The Times and the drum and bass tremble of Speed O'Lite.
The album, which comes out on Linn Records. lacks obvious commercial appeal, but is a record that sees the band still attempting to move forward rather than re-visiting past glories.
