Mozart Symphonies - SCO & Sir Charles Mackerras - BBC Radio 3 'Building A Library''

I'm getting to a couple of clear choices: the rhythmic buoyancy and drive of Charles Mackerras with the modern instruments of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, I think by the way that just edges out his earlier bigger-boned sound with the Prague Chamber Orchestra ... I think this is a matter of taste and it's a matter of your temperament. Mackerras's players are superb and his direction is absolutely well-judged, so if you don't like too many surprises I would say this is definitely the one to go for.
