Phantasm - Lawes: Consorts to the Organ - Turok Choice

William Byrd's complete consort music is excitingly performed by Phantasm, a six-member consort (372). The music is lovely, but the sound of the viols becomes difficult listening (it is the same throughout) robbing the music of its individuality. This said, the disc is a model of its kind.
