Winner of the First Prize and several times winner of the Special Prize of the Krzysztof Penderecki International Cello Competition, Astrig Siranossian performs as soloist with famous orchestras. Among her many chamber music partners are Daniel Barenboim, Martha Argerich, Simon Rattle and Yo-Yo Ma, to name but a few.

    In May 2022, Astrig made her debut at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig with Popper’s Cello Concerto No. 2 in E minor. The most well-known venues have already hosted the young musician: Paris Philharmonic, Musikverein in Vienna, KKL Luzern, Basel Casino, Dijon Opera, Flagey in Brussels, Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, Kennedy Center Washington….

    In 2021, she recorded the first concerto of C. Saint-Saëns with her concert partner Nabil Shehata for the Alpha Classics label.

    For the same label, she released the album "Dear Mademoiselle" in 2020, a tribute to Nadia Boulanger recorded with the pianist Nathanaël Gouin and Daniel Barenboim, and received tributes from the international press and medias.

    Her previous recording received many prizes including the « Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik », the Musica Prize and Télérama ffff. She is regularly invited by international TV channels and radios.

    Since 2016, Astrig Siranossian has directed « Les Musicades » festival which takes place in Romans sur Isère, her hometown in France. In 2020 she created the charity project « Spidak-Sevane » to bring education and material to children in Armenia.

    Astrig Siranossian started performing music at the age of three. Five years later she was admitted to the CNR in Lyon, furthered her studies at the Lyon CNSM in Lyon, obtaining her diploma of higher studies with distinction. She completed her training in Switzerland at the Basel Conservatory in Ivan Monighetti’s class, passing her Concert Masters and Soloist Masters Degree with flying honors.

    Astrig plays a 1676 Ruggieri cello, generously loaned by the Boubo Music Foundation in Binningen.
