Accolade For 'Gabrieli for Brass'

American Record Guide asked their  writers to list the best 10% of recordings which they had previously reviewed in 2018, with no more than 10 permitted. This was a “forced choice”—meaning that most of the reviewers would rather be allowed a few more top choices, so they had to cut down their preliminary lists. The recording, Gabrieli for Brass: Venetian Extravaganza, by the brass players of London’s Royal Academy of Music and New York’s Juilliard School was chosen by Barry Kilpatrick as one of his Critics’ Choice recordings of 2018.
