Rorem and Purcell to feature on CD Review

Listen out on BBC Radio on Saturday the 21st November from 9am when CD Review will be featuring not one but two Linn Records releases!

In the Recent Releases section of the show presenter Andrew McGregor will feature the new album from The Prince Consort: ‘Ned Rorem - On an echoing road'. Ned Rorem said of the recording: "the performances alone and together are in every way ideal. The recording is flawless." So listen out to hear what Andrew and the CD Review team think...

The second disc to feature on the show is Retrospect Trio's ‘Henry Purcell: Ten Sonatas in Four Parts'. Bruce Wood is invited to talk about new releases of music by Purcell, where he'll be discussing the recording which was released earlier this year. Upon release BBC Online commented: "wonderfully performed, fascinating...Bravo" whilst The Sunday Times, in addition to naming it Classical CD of the Week, stated "the playing is immaculate". Look out for news on Retrospect in the New Year...
