Claire Martin - The Waiting Game - Hi-Fi News & Record Review

Like Chesky Records, Linn has no intention of suffering 'nice sound, shame about the music' audiophile label criticism. Ms Martin, like stablemate Carol Kidd, is a cool jazz chanteuse, not quite a replacement for Sarah Vaughan or Dinah Washington, but less deliberate and ephemeral than Sade. An imaginative choice of material (songs from Joni Mitchell, Thomas Dolby, Lieber & Stoller) as well as the expected terrific sonics make you forget all about the audiophile turkeys of the past.
