Paavo Järvi & Estonian Festival Orchestra - Estonian Premieres - Gramophone

We have had Shostakovich and Tüür (3/18, 6/20) from Paavo Järvi’s exceptional and distinctive orchestra combining all-star continental European principals and concertmasters with their promising Baltic counterparts. The performances on this programme of ‘Estonian Premieres’ are as characteristic as you’d expect – the burnished brass in Ülo Krigul’s The Bow (2021) and the collective urgency in the same composer’s Chordae (2013).
